Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

The Endocrinology and Diabetes Department provides services for the following medical conditions:-

1- Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes (whether it precedes pregnancy or appears during pregnancy) and treatment of complications associated with diabetes in addition to an appropriate diet for each case.

2- Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of short children, including treatment of glandular diseases associated with short stature.

3- Thyroid diseases: hypothyroidism in adults and children, hyperthyroidism and thyroid diseases during pregnancy.

4- Vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis and parathyroid diseases.

5- Pituitary diseases: hypo and hypersecretion of growth hormone, hypersecretion of prolactin, diagnosis of pituitary tumors, diagnosis and treatment of hyposecretion of pituitary gland (Sheehan syndrome).

6- Diagnosis of adrenal gland tumors, diagnosis, follow-up and treatment of adrenal gland hyposecretion (Addison’s syndrome)

7- Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and associated hormonal disorders and women who suffer from excessive hair growth due to hormonal imbalance.

** Therapeutic nutrition for patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, short stature and obesity.
