Medical Social Service:
It is a group of specialized professional services provided by social workers to patients during the stages of receiving treatment in the hospital in order to help patients and their families to continue receiving appropriate treatment by overcoming the difficulties they face, taking into account that the patient is an individual in his/her own, social, cultural and material abilities, and is based on:
1/ Achieving integration and cooperation with the medical team to serve patients according to treatment plans to ensure health and social care for them.
2/ Social and psychological assessment of patients and their families in the event of facing difficulties and problems that may affect the treatment plan while they are in the hospital.
3/ Comprehensive psychological and social support for patients in the event that they do not accept the diagnosis and treatment.
4/ Supporting patients and their families in the decision-making process and in the event of their refusal of any medical procedure
5/ Providing special care services for patients (extended care, people with disabilities, critical cases)
6/ Contributing to awareness and social education for patients and their families, to overcome the psychological and social effects of the disease.
7/ Providing economic, social and psychological services related to health care.
8/ Providing palliative care for chronic diseases, and family trips abroad for extended care patients.
9/ Protecting and guiding those exposed to violence, abuse and neglect by referring them to the competent authorities.
10/ Participating in educational seminars that aim to spread awareness to patients and their families in addition to participating in international days.
