Department of therapeutic nutrition
The Nutrition Services Department provides meals and meets the nutritional needs of hospital patients of all age groups.
Department scope:
In addition to providing meals to hospital patients, employees, and visitors, the Nutrition Services Department assesses nutritional needs in addition to preparing nutritional treatment plans for patients with diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases, as well as patients suffering from malnutrition. The nutritional needs of patients are also assessed according to age group (children and the elderly) and health care is provided to them accordingly, according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Services and tasks:
The Nutrition and Food Services Department performs the following services and tasks: • Unifying food service procedures in the hospital and integrating them with existing systems.
Supervising, monitoring and following up on food supply to maintain the highest levels of quality in food services provided to hospital patients, employees and visitors.
Assessing nutritional needs and providing advice and awareness to patients.
Develop nutritional plans for patients with special requirements in cooperation with doctors in the hospital.
The nutritionist sets and monitors the patients’ diet in consultation with the treating physician during admission and in the clinics after the patients are discharged.
